Celestite is a beautiful crystal famous for its light blue colouration. This colouration is caused by impurities within the structure and defects in the crystal lattice. 
 
Typically formed within sedimentary environments following the evaporation of seawater, mineral-rich water moves through layers of high sulfate content, depositing celestite in the process. 
 
Please note: Celestite should not be placed in direct sunlight as this can cause fading to the colouration.
