Edmontosaurus is named after the "Edmonton Formation" from which it was first discovered. The formation is now more commonly referred to as the Horseshoe Canyon Formation. Reaching up to 13 meters in length and comfortably over 3000 kg, this was a truly huge herbivore however, the fossil record shows it was still very much a target for arguably the most famous of all carnivores Tyrannosaurus Rex.
 
Hadrosaurs had over 1000 teeth in their mouth at any one time with a "dental battery" equipped with rows of replacement teeth ready to go when others were lost during feeding.
