A rare sub-fossil Hippo tusk from Madagascar. There were once three species of hippo living alongside people in Madagascar, it is thought that due to overhunting and habitat loss, they had all became extinct around 1000 years ago. 
 
This is a lovely piece measuring 5.79 inches and it is displayed in a Riker display case.
